I've now added a mobile blog:

matt cruse - mobile blog

to my mattcruse.com website which I can update using the built in ShoZu application on my Samsung U900.

I Signed up for a Blogger account through Google and linked this with ShoZu (www.shozu.com). Now I can use the one touch "upload to web" option and send this direct to my mobile blog using the 3G+ network (very quick!) :) 

I've only added a picture I took a while ago as a test at the moment but keep checking back or subscribe to the feed for updates.

O2 Mobile Phone Problems Continued

So, where did we leave off? 

I finally received my new phone, a Samsung Soul U900 since when I called O2 the Sony Ericsson C902 is out of stock...surprise surprise!

Anyway, aside from the delivery address being incorrect (again!) and me having to phone DPD to get them to phone the driver to come back after he went to the wrong address, the charger that was supplied with the phone was incompatible and did not work - unbelievable!

After phoning O2 to make this complaint, I was sent out a new charger which, to my pleasant surprise, arrived today (next day delivery) - though the address was still wrong! Thank god for the common sense of the DHL man!

Hopefully this will be the end of the issue with mobile phones! Though I do have a couple of thoughts on this:

1. Do I still want to keep my contract with O2 when it's due for renewal?

2. Why, when you get a new phone after signing a new contract or renewing a contract you recieve a brand new phone, boxed and with all accessories, but when it fails (and is still under warranty) you get a replacement (reconditioned) phone with the basics?

Anyway, once I've mastered the Samsung Soul U900 I'll blog about it - keep an eye out for a mobile blog coming soon! :)

O2 Mobile Phone Problems

I've had my O2 contract for less than a year and have had 4 phones in this time! I got the LG Viewty - cancel key stopped working, got a Sony Ericsson K850i - phone switched itself off periodically and when turned back on was 'ok' until it turned itself off and then all it showed was the white screen of death, sent this back and got another which has now recently failed!

This time, the touch screen keys (which incidentally, control the menu and confirm buttons so you can't use the phone without these!) stopped responding. so I phoned O2 and was told the "phone was out of stock, phone back in a week". I phoned back in a week, phone was still out of stock - "phone back in a week". I phoned again a week later (by now 2 weeks) and was told "the phone is out of stock...and we're not re-stocking it" so I was offered a Sony Ericsson C902 - great, I thought, a nice new shiny phone :)

I got the phone, all worked fine, texting, camera etc. until it came to making a call! I realised that the microphone didn't work and nobody could hear me - pointless phone!! So I phoned O2 that day and was told, yes you guessed it, the phone was "out of stock"

ARRGGGHHH!! :(

...and breathe...

I was supposed to have a call and an email yesterday (Monday) to see if they had any in stock which they would send - its now Tuesday and I've heard nothing! If I ever get a replacement handset, I may be able to blog about it - however this may just continue to be a rant at O2....

Pulling Status Updates From XML Feed

Learning all the time...I've managed to write a script to pull the status from an XML feed - with a little Google Search etc. etc. so far I've implemented this for Mackney.com so that all his current status updates are pulled through and shown on my links page. Check it out...

New Site Design

mjcruse.co.uk has a re-vamp...I've finally got round to updating my site design - been a while! I've decided to keep it a simple site this time round - too many funny things going on last time around, this is much nicer and hopefully I'll be able to add more informative blogs on. I've also added the ability for people to comment on my blog and bits items - so if you have any thoughts, questions etc. please comment or contact me using the contact form.
